About This Post
Black History Month is celebrated every October. The aim of the month is to promote knowledge of Black history, culture and heritage, disseminate information on positive Black contributions to British society and to heighten the confidence and awareness of Black people in relation to their cultural heritage. 2017 is the 30th anniversary of Black History Month in the UK so we are planning a big celebration.
On 22nd October 2016 we will be hosting 'Our Stories'. A day of talks, stories, crafts and music organised with several partner organisations including Akeba, the Retired Caribbean Nurses Association and the African Caribbean Senior Citizens Group as well as volunteers.
